How to Make Girly Tattoo Designs

It wasn’t many years ago that tattoos were considered a man thing so girly tattoo designs weren’t even in the mix. When we thought of tattoos we envisioned an outline of a shapely woman on the arm of a man and that was what would be thought of as girly tattoo designs, if even then that term existed. Other than that we often would notice other manly images and designs as tattoos on men.

This is a different time and girly tattoo designs are common, even to the extent that more women are being inked than men, and many times multiple times. Some tattoos on women are simply sexy and very attractive on the ladies; this is how I would define girly tattoo designs. You might add any design that will add to the feminine appeal of a woman.

Now that we have established what a girly tattoo design is, just how should you choose the right inking for you? I would suggest there are several issues to resolve in your mind before you come to a design decision. Let’s consider some of these concerns;

1) Where do you want your tattoo on your body? Women commonly choose an area where the tattoo is sort of semi-visible, where the inking isn’t easily seen. These areas are considered sexy, places such as the upper chest, ankle, lower back, shoulders and nape.

2) Once this choice has been made, now you need to consider the design. Girly tattoo designs are generally small and delicate and would include designs such as hearts, stars, floral designs, initials and small cartoon characters.

3) Next you should consider your color combination. Tattoos that are considered girly often make good use of color and shading elements and hardly ever will have the harshness of a tattoo that a man would have.

Girly tattoo designs are usually simple in design but don’t interpret this to mean a woman sporting these designs is soft and the push over type. Actually it is very much the opposite; women who wear these sexy designs are usually independent, strong and highly fashionable.

Ask the advice of your family or a friend when considering your design. This makes it possible to create a design that you can own and one that will shed light on your personality. You should also consider online galleries since you will discover many designs and color combinations that you haven’t thought of; combinations that have the potential to guide you in creating a real masterpiece to be proud of.

Phoenix Tattoos For Women

The phoenix incorporates notions of life, rebirth and renewal. If you are contemplating a phoenix bird tattoo you need to take these values into account. Also, a phoenix bird of fire tattoo must be of sufficient size to make an impact. This is a magnificent bird and deserves respect – size is important. You simply can’t represent the idea of eternal life with a small tattoo!
With so many tattoo designs around it can be somewhat bewildering trying to figure out which one is right for you. There are many factors to take into account but, essentially, the most important factor is decoding the meaning behind the tattoo design. Ask yourself, “What does this design represent?” It’s true that some tattoos are loads of fun and don’t really have any significance – nothing wrong with that! But a phoenix tattoo doesn’t really fall into that category. A phoenix tattoo design has a definite purpose and significance which you need to know about before going ahead and getting this tattoo design inked.

The Magnificent Phoenix

So who or what is the phoenix? Well, this mythological bird is extremely mystical and enigmatic. Because of this, it is a very popular motif in tattoo artwork around the world. This bird’s origins are believed to lie in the ancient country of Ethiopia in Africa. The bird’s name is connected with ‘fire’ and the color ‘red.’ Amongst other ideas, the phoenix incorporates notions of life, rebirth and renewal. This is a great symbol for ‘starting again’ or ‘washing away the old.’ If you are contemplating a phoenix bird tattoo you need to take these values into account. Also, a phoenix bird of fire tattoo must be of sufficient size to make an impact. This is a magnificent bird and deserves respect – size is important. You simply can’t represent the idea of eternal life and rebirth with a small tattoo!

Finding a Suitable Design

If you have made up your mind to get a phoenix tattoo design, the next stage in your planning should involve research into finding a suitable design. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of tattoo galleries, both online and offline, from which you can choose your perfect phoenix tattoo. These galleries are usually full of color and are a pleasant way to while away the time as you make up your mind. However, try not to get too distracted by the dozens of alternative designs available. Stick to the phoenix design!

Vitally important in your final decision should be the color and size; you have to like the design, but it also has to coordinate and blend and all these elements must match if your design is to be esthetically pleasing. A balance is, therefore, needed: not too many similar or contrasting colors. Your tattoo will be with you for a long, long time so make sure it doesn’t look awkward or out of place.

Finally, once you’ve decided on a phoenix tattoo design, you should spend a good deal of time with your chosen tattoo artist and explain exactly what it is that you are looking for and maybe even suggest a few alternate phoenix designs. Who knows, between you both you may come up with a new ‘hybrid’ phoenix design. It’s a big decision, so take your time and ‘live’ with the various designs for a period of time before finally having it inked.

Flowers are naturally pretty and attractive. With their visual appeal plus the different meanings they represent, they have become an all time favorite. Temporary tattoos have existed for many years now. But now temporary tattooing has taken a turn into the world of high fashion body art eerie at. This spring of variety of haute couture designers use tattoos as accessories to go along with their fashion line. Jean-Paul Gauthier included henna designs as part of his spring and summer looks, Rodarte incorporated tribal patterns, and Chanel put forth a look that included lots of  florals designs and faux jewelry, complete with the Chanel logo.

Normally such accessories are only seen on the cat walks. But Chanel’s temporary tattoos have proved so popular the company is making them available for anyone. The series of temporary tattoos are going to be available for only a limited time. The Les Trompe L’Oeil de CHANEL Temporary Skin Art kit will include over fifty temporary tattoos designs created just for Chanel, and is said it will retail for about $75 apiece. The designs should echo what was seen on the runways. Models were shown with faux multiple bangle bracelets, elaborate garter belts that went around the thigh or ran down the leg, and larger designs appropriate for application across the shoulders and upper arms, around the neck or down the back.
For those on a limited budget, this may be a more affordable way to wear Chanel fashion, albeit temporarily. Years ago in San Francisco, I asked one of my tattoo artists what their least favorite design to tattoo was. The woman working on my arm only had to pause for a moment before answering “the Chanel logo.” I asked her what she meant. She replied that the designs of the Chanel logo, the double-C pattern, was very complex to do as it’s an extreme curve and is difficult to execute on skin. She also said that the type of person who would want to wear Chanel logo, was one of the more annoying personality types of anyone she had ever met in the tattoo world.
